RESETTLEMENT OFFICER

Objective

This role will be dedicated to supporting a Mining Project. The role will consist of implementing the RAP, including the livelihoods restoration program. The role will report to the Resettlement Superintend.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and the Livelihoods Restoration Plan.
  • Liaise with the Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator the management and registration of resettlement grievances.
  • Participate in the Resettlement Committee meetings and support the facilitation process. Provide minutes of meetings to all the attendees. Support the presentations and take photos as required.
  • Ensure all PAP documents are up to date, including photos, individual files, bank accounts, and other.
  • Inform PAP of all activities, engage, conduct meetings.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the RAP process and livelihood restoration program.
  • Prepare daily activities with the Resettlement Superintendent.
  • Regularly engage with the PAP to understand issues or concerns and build a relationship based on trust.
  • Support the RAP consultants.
  • Participate in the negotiation process with the RAP consultants.
Contribute weekly and monthly reports regarding resettlement.

Profile

  • Degree incommunity, rural development, agriculture or other relevant degree.
  • Valid Drivers license
  • 3-5 years in a similar position
  • Local Languages.

  • Technical competences and demonstrated knowledge in physical and economic resettlement.

  • Sensitivity to work in the field, rural areas, social situations.

  • Analytical skills (abilities), teamwork skills, strong oral communication skills, ability to adapt messages to people of different literacy levels, problem-solving

  • skills: identify and solve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work alone and in teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
