SHE TRAINING SUPERVISOR

Objective

To be an active and efficient H&S Team member by driving the ES&H Strategy and function to reduce risks and improve safety performance in line with legislated requirements and company objectives.

Conduct the following in order to reach our safety goal of Zero Harm.

  • Work proactively with project team and contractors to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the project and eventually into operations.
  • Use techniques to observe safe work behaviours and give positive reinforcement as well as the appropriate coaching for at-risk behaviour.
  • To be the champion and focal point for all in-house SHE Training matters
  • Assist in the implementation of project H&S monitoring and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, by assisting the SHE Team with visible presence on site.
  • Develops and presents SHE training packages to GAC employees, contractors and visitors. Maintain the training packages updated and adequate, in both English and French
  • Act as guide to new employees, upon their arrival on site.
  • Develops and maintains all training metrics (training matrix, registers and records). Maintenance of Verification of Competence (VOC) certificates.
  • Provides ah-hoc transplantation support to the SHE Management System.
  • Ensures the application of code of business conduct by the department employees and consultants.

Profil

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least a graduate in a relevant field of study (HSE / technical) or an equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Train the Trainer certification, or capability or acquire it
  • Extensive and proven track record in the Training area can overcome for the lack of the minimum qualifications

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience within Health & Safety field.

Skills:

Computer:

  • Operating computer systems.

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, IE).

Languages:

  • Fluent English/French (spoken/written)

Report Writing:

  • Present information in report format.

  • Process data using information technology.

  • Reporting in English and in French.

General:

  • Apply the organization’s code of conduct in a work environment.
  • Apply the principles of corporate governance and ethics in function.

  • Apply problem-solving techniques to make a decision or solve a problem.

  • Capability to engage with different audiences, ranging from field personnel to senior management.

Work Environment:

  • Able in stressful and remote site environment.
