About our client
Our client is a prominent and dynamic financial institution operating in Guinea. As a key player in the national banking sector, they are accelerating the expansion of their "Corporate Banking" division. Recognising the strategic importance of Chinese investment in Guinea (particularly in mining, infrastructure, and construction), our client is launching a dedicated initiative to become the preferred banking partner for Chinese enterprises operating in the region.
Your Main Missions
As the Business Developer (China Desk), you will act as the spearhead of the bank within the Chinese business community. Your role is primarily commercial: you must identify, approach, and convince Chinese companies to partner with our client.
You will be responsible for:
- Active Prospecting (Hunting): Mapping the market of Chinese companies in Guinea (both established and new entrants) and conducting aggressive field prospecting to secure decision-making meetings.
- Portfolio Development: Converting prospects into active clients by proposing bespoke banking solutions (Trade Finance, FX, Cash Management) adapted to Sino-Guinean business cycles.
- Strategic Networking (Guanxi): Building and maintaining a strong network of influence with Chinese economic decision-makers, chambers of commerce, and diplomatic bodies to capture opportunities upstream.
- Commercial Negotiation: Leading complex contract negotiations in a multicultural environment, overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers to close deals.
- Market Intelligence: Monitoring major projects (Mining, Infrastructure) funded by Chinese capital to position the bank's offer ahead of the competition.
- Client Onboarding: Ensuring a smooth transition from contract signing to operational handover, guaranteeing immediate satisfaction for the new client.
The Profile We Are Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business, Finance, or a Business School degree.
- You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in B2B Business Development, Complex Service Sales, or Corporate Banking, with strong exposure to international clients.
Required Technical Skills
- Language Proficiency: Mandarin (Fluent/Native) is MANDATORY. Additionally, you must be fluent in EITHER English OR French. You must be capable of negotiating business deals in Mandarin and one of the other two languages.
- Mastery of sales and prospecting techniques (Sales Funnel, Cold Calling, Networking).
- Solid understanding of international financial products (Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, FX) is highly appreciated.
- Ability to quickly analyze a company’s economic potential (basic financial statement analysis).

- Autonomy: Ability to build your own sales pipeline and organize your activity in the field independently.
