BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - FRENCH SPEAKING AFRICA (Infrastructure/Energy)

With nearly 30 years of experience, Our Client is an international company specialized in the execution of infrastructure and renewable energy projects in emerging markets. They are committed to sustainable development, operational excellence, and multicultural talent.
They are currently strengthening their commercial team, so we are looking for a Business Development Manager with experience in Sub-Saharan Africa markets to lead their business expansion in French-speaking countries in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification and development of new business opportunities across French-speaking countries in Africa;
- Act as a key link between internal teams—engineering, legal, technical, and operational—to ensure the effective coordination and presentation of tailored commercial proposals;
- Coordinate contract negotiations in collaboration with legal and other teams, ensuring alignment with both client expectations and company policies;
- Build strong relationships with government entities, local partners including financial institutions, suppliers and other stakeholders;
- Monitor market trends and conduct competitive intelligence activities to support business development;
- Contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic commercial objectives by aligning business development efforts with long-term growth plans.
Profile Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development in the infrastructure, construction, or energy sectors in Africa;
- Experience in the development of EPC+F projects is particularly valuable;
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills;
- Fluent in French (C1 or native level). English is desirable;
- Strong understanding of institutional and commercial contexts in Sub-Saharan countries;
- A highly adaptable individual who thrives in the diverse and dynamic environments of Sub-Saharan Africa or similar markets;
- A proactive and results-oriented individual with the ability to work autonomously and seamlessly integrate with multidisciplinary teams.
