FIELD MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Missions

  • You be assisting the TECHNICAL MANAGER to ensure that the vessels are technically and operationally fit for operation.
  • You will represent the company's management when you are onboard the vessels or during technical stops.
  • The FIELD MECHANICAL ENGINEER will proactively assure an efficient, safe and cost-conscious execution of all related tasks and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • The FIELD MECHANICAL ENGINEER follows the company processes and standards.
  • The FIELD MECHANICAL ENGINEER ‘s role is to:

Regulatory compliance:

  • Ensure Regulatory compliance of the Shore Facilities and onshore/offshore Material Handling Equipment

Principal Responsibilities

Technical activities:

  • Ensure Technical readiness of the Shore Facilities and onshore/offshore Material Handling Equipment such as cranes, conveyors, boom loader for efficient operations
  • Manage Purchase and Logistics activities for the Shore Facilities and onshore/offshore Material Handling Equipment
  • Ensure optimal performance of the crews and teams
  • Promote and enforce QHSE and SMS system
  • Do / Support any other activities as necessary for the good operation and performance of LDPL ME

Communication:

  • Alerts the TECHNICAL MANAGER of any problems / incidents with the vessels
  • Communicate with manufacturers if possible on mechanical equipments
  • Report all cases of non-compliance and issue non-conformance breaches to relevant parties
  • Actively promotes the achievements of the company as relevant

Any other activity as necessary for the good performance of the company.

Profile

Education and experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Qualified in Port Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum three (3) years’ as Field Mechanical Engineer
  • Experience in Cranes, Conveyors, Crusher and Mining
  • Experience in Ships would be a plus

Skills:

Technical and professional skills are essential in addition to:

  • English and French skills both oral and written.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and/or accounting software
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations and terminology
  • Familiarity with all marine emergency response procedures.
  • Good Understanding in the ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and ISM certification process.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
