About Our Client

Our client is a prominent player in the Mining sector with significant operations in Guinea, West Africa. As a key contributor to the region's industrial landscape, they are dedicated to maintaining high operational standards and ensuring seamless integration of international and local talent within their large-scale projects.

Your Main Missions

As the Operations Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing operational functions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and managing day-to-day tasks. Your responsibilities include:

  • Onboarding Management: Overseeing the complete onboarding process for external employees and contractors, including documentation collection and system enrollment.
  • Operational Support: Supporting the Group Operations Controller and providing essential cover during leave periods.
  • Compliance & Logistics: Coordinating medical assessments and managing worldwide flight bookings while adhering to travel policies and rotation timelines.
  • Visa & Work Permits: Facilitating work permit and visa applications, monitoring expiry dates, and ensuring timely renewals.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as the primary point of contact for employees and contractors regarding queries, while maintaining proactive relationships with clients and recruiters.
  • Health & Safety Coordination: Informing the HSE Manager of new starters to ensure mandatory HSE Inductions are completed.
  • Medical Cover Oversight: Managing company medical cover policies to ensure all personnel have adequate protection for their assignment location.

The Profile We Are Looking For

Education & Experience

  • A Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • You justify previous experience in an operational role within the recruitment industry or a related field.

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience maintaining HRIS systems for employee and contractor data management.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements specifically within the mining sector.
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills in both English & French.
