As part of its ongoing growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, our client is strengthening its teams and is currently looking for an experienced QHS Manager to support and oversee QHS policies on large-scale projects.
Your main missions
As a QHS Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing safety, quality, occupational health, and environmental activities at corporate and contract levels.
- Ensuring the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of prevention and control programs for relevant disciplines.
- Managing Quality Certification processes.
- Defining and guaranteeing the implementation of methods for classifying exposure to potential risks, the Emergency Response Plan (PAE), and the Fire Prevention and Control Plan (PPCI).
- Ensuring adequate signage in the work environment and determining rates related to work safety performance.
- Determining and monitoring standards regarding the acquisition, storage, and handling of special or controlled products.
- Ensuring compliance with ESIA commitments, Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), and maintaining accurate documentation for permits.
- Enforcing environmental legislation criteria, responsible for environmental and sanitary inspections, and waste management.
- Managing the Integrated Management System, ensuring the application of technical standards for product and service quality.
- Guiding employees to apply norms and procedures of quality, environment, occupational health, safety, and social responsibility.
The profile we are looking for
Education & Experience
- Formal education in Safety Engineering at Work.
- Required Training: Lead Quality Auditor.
- Education Level: University Masters Studies.
- Minimum experience required: 10 years.
Required Technical Skills
- Experience in QHSE management in large infrastructure works.
- Knowledge of QHSE legislation for African countries.
- Implementation, management, and maintenance of the Integrated Management System.
- Knowledge of ESG criteria and Global Compact (UN) principles.
- Fluency in French and English.
