UTILITY OPERATOR - POTROOM SERVICES

To provide support and assistance to the other employees in the different sections of the department, whilst carrying out the daily tasks in order to gain the technical knowledge and experience regarding the department’s activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assists in the different activities that are being carried out in the Potroom Services Facilities, i.e. ACRM / bath skips filling into hoppers or bags, segregation of material in the court yard, housekeeping, etc.
• Informs the shift supervisor in case of abnormalities and regarding the progress of the assigned tasks.
• Operates mobile equipment like a forklift, payloader etc. as required, complying with all safety standards by carrying out all routine checks of the mobile equipment and reflects it in the checklist. If there is any issue, immediately informs the shift in-charge for timely rectification.
• Assists the operator with the preparation of tools and equipment required for activities prior to start.
• Assists in BPF operation.
• Carries out housekeeping at the end of the job.
• The job holder could be trained on operating either the Reduction of Alkaline Material Stations (RAM Station) or Crucible Maintenance Facility (CMF)
  

• Successful completion of 12th grade schooling OR High School Certificate/ level OR vocational study certificate

• 2 years of industrial work experience/training

Skills

• The ability to utilize the English language fluently (Reading, Speaking & Listening)
• Must hold a valid category 7 licence (a requirement to be upgraded from Utility Operator to Potroom Services Handler)
• Must be physically fit and capable of working in shift patterns
